Catskill Rivers once referred to as the Charmed Circle, fished and written about by many of the notable Catskill historic fly tyers.
Beaverkill River
Angler accounts date back to the 1830’s and maybe earlier. This Beaverkill was noted by Theodore Gordon in his writings. Today, the river from the Junction Pool down to its confluence to the East Branch has many public access points for anglers. The upper half of the river to its source remains public, except for one small access point posted as private.
Esopus River
This was the home waters of noted fly tyer Ray Smith. Note links for more information including water flows.

Scoharie River
The home water of Art Flick noted angler, guide, and author of the Streamside Guide.

Willowemoc River
Historical records indicate Theodore Gordon fished the headwaters of this stream and favored a location just below where Mongap Stream enters. This is now in the town of Debruce, NY.
The Delaware River System came into prominence after becoming Tail Waters.
