Preserving, protecting, and promoting the Catskill fly-tying heritage
We are the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild! We live and breathe the rich and colorful history of Catskill fly tying.
The Catskill Fly Tyers Guild was established in 1993 to preserve, protect, promote, and enhance the Catskill fly-tying heritage. It is a members only, non-profit organization that is dedicated to the Catskill fly-tying traditions. Today, the guild is still going strong through our members and many volunteers.
Catskill Fly Tyers Guild - Gazette
The Gazette is the newsletter of the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild. The Gazette is published six times per year and sent via email to current members of the guild. The guild started sending members a newsletter in January 1998. We are thankful to previous editors of the newsletter—Allan Podell and Bud Bynack—for establishing a tradition of quality writing that we strive to maintain. Typical of newsletters, you’ll find important announcements in the Gazette, but you will also find regular features, fly patterns, and additional stories submitted by our knowledgeable members. Past issues of the Gazette that are about six months out of date can be viewed and enjoyed in PDF form on this website, but everyone who joins the guild will automatically receive current issues as they are published.
I hope that you enjoy reading the Gazette, and I hope that you will consider membership in the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild.
